Sri Lanka President visits Norochcholai Coal Power Plant

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa made a surprise visit to the Norochcholai Cola Power Plant which is currently under construction.

A government official said that the President inspected the progress of the Coal Power Plant and held talks with the workers and the officials there. Sri Lanka Minister of Power and Energy W. D. J. Seneviratne meanwhile, at the launching of Phase Two and Three of the coal power plant said the cost of electricity would be reduced with the establishment of the Power Plant The Phase Two of the project is scheduled to be completed by 2012.
