Shiral-Kotte new UNP organizer

Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe recently appointed Attorney Shiral Lakthileka as the chief organizer of the party for the Kotte electorate.

He is a graduate from the Law faculty of the Colombo University. He has also received degrees in international law and conflict resolution from Arcadia and Temple Universities in Philadelphia in the US. He worked as an advisor to the Constitutional Affairs Ministry during the UNF government and played a key role in trying to introduce a new Constitution at the time. Lakthileka has also given leadership to many civil organizations that have acted against fraud and corruption in order to protect human rights, civil rights and media freedom. He has carved a niche as a political analyst and has been well accepted by the local and international community as protector of human rights.
