Sri Lankan private bus owners demand fare hike once again

Following the increase in diesel prices by the Sri Lanka government, the private bus owners today demanded a bus fare hike again.

Speaking to the media president of the Lanka Private Bus Operators' Association Gemunu Wijeratna said that they have to increase bus fares as the government had increased diesel prices by Rs. 3.00. However, the private bus operators' unions are to discuss further to decide the percentage of the bus fare hike. However, Wijeratna said that the bus fares will not be increased till the end of July.
