Sri Lanka to participate in the ASEAN conference in Manila

The annual conference of the Association of South East Asian Countries opens tomorrow in the Philippines capital Manila. Sri Lanka is participating in it for the first time.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said, that Sri Lanka is elected to be the 27th member country of ASEAN and issues of threats to security and suppression of terrorism would be taken up for discussion. Sri Lanka will share its experience on terrorism and would anticipate the cooperation of ASEAN countries to resolve our issues.
