AMPARA: MORTAR ROUNDS FIRED BY TIGER TERRORISTS targeting the Special Task Force (STF) camp in SANGAMANKANDA fell into the compound of the OMARI tsunami camp injuring a displaced woman there. The incident occurred around 7.15 am today (28) The STF retaliated with mortars and small arms. However, damages to the Tigers as yet to be confirmed.

The injured woman was admitted to the THIRUKKOVIL hospital for treatment.

This is yet another instance of indiscriminate firing by the Tigers despite civilian presence in the area. Haphazard firing by the Tigers has further displaced civilians and physically harmed them. Continued violence by the Tigers has become a tragedy far greater than the tsunami in the North and East.
