Peon held in fake poll card claim

A postal peon was taken into custody after he faked a complaint to police saying that a group had snatched 69 postal cards from his person.

On further questioning of the postman, a suspicious Kaduganawa police later searched the man’s home and found the missing poll cards neatly stashed inside a drawer. 

The suspect belonging to the Danture post office had earlier told police that an unidentified group of armed persons and threatened him and snatched the poll cards on Wednesday .
